All the ingredients used for preparation of the concrete, are thoroughly tested for their quality and physical properties in a well equipped laboratory attached to the plant for conformity to relevant Indian Standard Codes.

The moisture probe determines the water content in the sand and aggregates. This accordingly helps in fixing the proportion of water to be added for the preparation of the mix. The sand being used is passed through the mechanized sieving system, before feeding for mixing. Trial mixes are carried out and tested to ensure that each and every batch of concrete coming out of the plant meets the parameters of client’s requirements.  Laboratory testing

The Company’s production facilities in different locations are supplemented with a state-of-the-art central laboratory for testing of concrete and its ingredients. All central laboratories are fully equipped with latest testing equipment conforming to the requirements of relevant codes of the Bureau of Indian Standards. The routine tests done in the laboratories include the following:

Aggregate gradation (once in a week)

Moisture content (at least twice in a day)

   Silt content

   Plastic Density

Compressive strength of concrete: at 28 days (  7/56/90 – day testing optional, depending on customer requirement)

The properties of cement and chemical admixtures are monitored by insisting on the suppliers to furnish test certificates. When in doubt, the materials are sent for testing in a third-party lab. At certain locations, some physical tests on cement are also carried out.
